About Us

Hey there, fellow pet lover!

My name is Nehal Ariz. And if you’re anything like me, you probably worry a little too much about what goes into your pet’s bowl, and honestly, that’s a good thing, and that is why you are here on this page.

To be honest, I didn’t start this blog with any big business plan. I started it because I was confused and worried about my pet’s health and diet.

How It All Started

To be honest, it all started with a few weeks that really stressed me out. My dog wouldn’t stop scratching. His ears, his neck, sometimes just randomly going at his side like something was biting him from inside. And with the food, he’d walk up to his bowl, sniff it, and just walk away. Like he was trying to tell me something, and I wasn’t listening.

I figured it was probably an ear infection. Maybe a little allergy thing. Nothing serious. So I booked a vet appointment, half expecting her to hand me some ear drops and send us home. But she didn’t even look at his ears first. She just glanced at me over her clipboard and said, “So what have you been feeding him?”

And I just went blank. I knew the brand name. I knew the bag had a happy dog on it. That was about it. That question embarrassed me into action. I went home and started reading everything I could find about pet nutrition. What I discovered genuinely surprised me, and that’s when PetPlate.blog was born.

I created this website for pet owners who want simple and clear information about what to feed their dogs and cats and to help you better understand pet behavior. And I know it can get confusing with so much advice online, so my goal is to make things easier for you.

What this Blog is About

This is not a blog run by vets or scientists. I want to be completely upfront about that.

I am a pet owner who spends a lot of time researching pet nutrition and behavior. I genuinely love animals, and everything I share here is based on personal experience with my own pets and careful research from vet websites, nutrition studies, and pet health communities I trust. My goal is to provide simple, helpful, and accurate information that can benefit other pet owners.

On the PetPlate.blog, you’ll find:

🐶 Dog food guides: what to feed, what to avoid, and how to read ingredient labels without needing a degree in chemistry

🐱 Cat food guides: because cats have very different nutritional needs than dogs, and most people don’t realize that

🍳 Homemade pet food recipes: simple, safe meals you can make at home with ingredients from your kitchen

🥗 Pet nutrition breakdowns: explained in plain English, not medical jargon

🐾 Pet behavior tips: because what your pet eats directly affects how they act and feel

📝 Honest product reviews: I only review things I’ve genuinely researched thoroughly

Note: The content on this blog is for informational purposes only and should not replace professional veterinary advice.
